The Material Handler ensures the safe efficient timely and accurate movement of materials and product throughout the plant to support production and plant operations.
This position will work a night shift (7AM-7PM Mon-Thur) for a total of 48 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have a general understanding of rack numbering systems tags raw materials and WIP
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move materials
- Operate stretch wrap machine and banding equipment
- Perform routine safety inspections of lift equipment
- Supply department with materials in a timely fashion such that machine downtime is avoided
- Perform daily housekeeping chores such as sweeping and 5S activities as time permits
- Document inventory locations usinghandheldelectronic devices
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Stable work history
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions
- 1-3 years experience of material handling and use of forklifts (stand-up & sit-down) pallet jacks powered pallet jacks or related equipment is preferred
Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb kneel bend squat
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection steel-toe shoes safety glasses
Internal Requirements:
- Must demonstrate Core Values
- Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues
- Performer or higher on last performance review
