Work Schedule Hours per week: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM 40 hours per week

Starting Salary Range: $23.68-$30.64 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary:

The Marketing Photographer/Videographer supports JCCC mission by developing strategic photos and videos that advance the Colleges marketing and communications goals. Through original photography videography editing and multimedia storytelling this role produces compelling content for owned earned shared and paid channels. The position supports enrollment and retention efforts strengthens the Colleges reputation and helps engage key audiences through high-quality visual storytelling that align with JCCCs brand identity. The role requires balancing technical expertise with a person-first approach making students faculty and staff feel at ease behind the lens. This position reports to Vice President Strategic Communications & Marketing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in communications film/video production visual arts photography journalism marketing or a closely related field; and 4 years of professional experience in photography and video production/editing.
  • Or an associate degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.

Position detailsinclude but are not limited to:

  • Photography Multimedia Production:
    • Produce professional photography and video assets based on content plans and strategies developed in collaboration with channel owners members of the marketing team and others in the campus community. Capture interviews testimonials campus experiences and promotional content including environmental portraits architectural shots classroom interactions and high-energy event coverage.
    • Create short-form videos optimized for social media web email print and other digital platforms.
    • Support advertising recruitment retention advancement and marketing initiatives with visuals that communicate the JCCC brand.
    • Build campus relationships to enable in-class photo shoots and access to capture classroom activities.
    • Develop shot lists storyboards image concepts and execute content plans.
    • Plan schedule and coordinate photo and video shoots. Consult with marketing team members to clarify audience message channel timeline and intended use before photo or video production begins.
    • Coach on-camera participants and capture authentic student faculty staff and community stories.
    • Communicate effectively with students faculty staff community members and external partners before during and after shoots and productions.
  • Visual Storytelling:
    • Collaborate with team members to develop image and content concepts shot lists and storyboards.
    • Align visual assets with institutional priorities and campaign goals.
    • Identify compelling images and stories from campus sources that support institutional messaging.
    • Stay current on video and photography trends and visual styles and changes in higher education marketing to ensure content remains modern and relevant.
    • Strategy-driven creation of both long-form storytelling and native short-form assets for social web email and campus signage.
  • Editing and Post-production:
    • Perform video editing color correction image retouching and audio editing.
    • Source and curate music backgrounds shot locations and supporting graphic elements.
    • Ensure accessibility compliance across all created media through captioning transcriptions and alt text.
    • Deliver optimized files formatted for specific channels including high-resolution print large-format print web-optimized formats and platform-specific social crops.
  • Manage Digital Assets:
    • Actively curate the image and video library; organize tag and upload assets to the central hub using standard metadata taxonomy and file naming conventions.
    • Archive assets as they age out of active use while maintaining searchable archives.
    • Manage media release processes to ensure legal compliance and photo rights clearance for all imagery.
    • Use content performance and engagement metrics to inform future visual asset planning.
    • Maintain production notes shot logs consent documentation file versions and usage details to support efficient content reuse and compliance.
    • Care for inspect store and inventory the departments photography and videography equipment.
