Description

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Marketing the Marketing Coordinator supports the Edwardsville YMCAs mission through marketing communication and community engagement initiatives that strengthen awareness increase participation and advance organizational goals. This position develops and distributes content across multiple platforms promotes YMCA programs and events supports fundraising and partnership initiatives and shares the impact of the YMCA throughout the community. The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening community relationships enhancing organizational visibility and advancing membership engagement and brand awareness efforts. Essential Functions:

  1. Support the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies that promote YMCA programs services events fundraising initiatives sponsorship opportunities and community impact.
  2. Create and manage content for social media email marketing digital advertising websites and other communication channels while maintaining YMCA brand standards.
  3. Design and produce marketing materials including graphics flyers brochures presentations videos and other promotional assets.
  4. Capture and share photography video member success stories staff highlights and community impact stories that strengthen engagement and showcase the YMCA mission.
  5. Maintain a content calendar to support consistent communication and marketing efforts across all platforms.
  6. Represent the YMCA at community events outreach opportunities fairs and partnership activities to strengthen community relationships and increase organizational visibility.
  7. Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses schools healthcare organizations nonprofits sponsors and community partners while supporting partnership and sponsorship initiatives.
  8. Monitor marketing trends and emerging opportunities to improve engagement visibility and communication effectiveness.
  9. Track and report key marketing metrics including social media performance email engagement website traffic and campaign effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
  10. Support member engagement retention and participation initiatives through effective communication and promotional campaigns.
  11. Contribute to strategic planning discussions long-term marketing initiatives and organizational goals through collaboration innovation and data-informed decision making.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations Graphic Design Business or related field preferred.
  2. One to three years of experience in marketing communications content creation community engagement or a related field preferred.
  3. Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
  5. Photography videography and graphic design experience preferred.
  6. Experience with Canva Adobe Creative Suite or similar design platforms preferred.
  7. Familiarity with email marketing platforms and website content management systems.
  8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Ability to work with diverse groups of people and build positive relationships.
  10. Strong judgment creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  11. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and organizational activities.
  12. Passion for community engagement and commitment to the YMCA mission and core values.

  • Must be able to coordinate a variety of large and small tasks simultaneously and handle tension and stress in a positive manner.
