Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the work of the YMCA by executing clear engaging and mission-driven communications across digital and print platforms. This role works closely with the Strategic Communications Director and collaborates across departments to support marketing campaigns storytelling membercommunicationand organizational visibility.

This is an ideal opportunity for a marketing professional with 35 years of experience who is ready to continue growing within a collaborative mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate is creative organizedadaptableand comfortable managing multiple projects independently in a fast-paced workplace.

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will execute a wide range of marketing efforts including content creation social media management website updates email marketing digital signage photography campaigncoordinationand storytelling.

This role is ideal for a marketing and communications professional who enjoys creating content managingprojectsand supporting meaningful community engagement work while continuing to grow their skills in a collaborative environment.

Essential Functions

  • Executes marketing and communications projects and campaigns across digital print and member-facing channels.

  • Creates and coordinates content for social media email marketing campaigns website updates digital signage flyersbrochuresand member communications.

  • Maintains website content and ensures schedules events and messaging areaccurateand up to date.

  • Manages social media content calendars and supports engagement across organizational platforms.

  • Createsschedulesand distributes email marketing campaigns.

  • Develops visual and written storytelling content that highlights the YMCAs impactinyouth development healthylivingand social responsibility.

  • Takesphotos and videos at YMCA programs events and community activities as needed.

  • Executes digital marketing efforts including online advertising SEOimplementationand campaign support.

  • Maintains YMCA brand standards and ensures materials align with YMCA brand guidelines.

  • Works closely with programoperationsand development teams to gather information coordinaterequestsand support communication needs.

  • Coordinates with print vendors media partners and external vendors as assigned.

  • Creates and distributestimelyoperational communications and member updates across digital platforms.

  • Pulls and organizes marketing performance data including social media engagement websitetrafficand email performance metrics.

  • Supports event promotion and community engagement initiatives.

  • Demonstrates initiativeorganizationand strong follow-through while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Completes all requiredtrainingsas assigned by supervisor by scheduled due dates.

  • Handles questions and concerns in a professionalempatheticand solution-oriented manner.

  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound professional judgment in communications work.

  • Mustmaintaina current valid Oregon drivers license a DMV driving record that meets YMCA standards and evidence of insurability throughout employment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of coursework certificationswebinarsor other types of educationin marketing communications publicrelationsora relatedfield.

  • At least 3-1/2years of professional experience in marketingcommunicationsor related work.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience creating content for social media emailmarketingand/or websites.

  • Experience using graphic design platforms such asAdobe Creative Suiteand/orCanva.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in marketing communications graphicdesignor related field.

  • Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress orDrupal.

  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant ContactMailchimpor HubSpot.

  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts.

  • Basic photography and videography skills.

  • Experience working in a nonprofit community-focusedor mission-driven organization.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
