Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be based out of Hobart IN. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager this person will be responsible for supervising staff with an emphasis on teamwork continuous improvement and accomplishment of safety quality delivery and cost. The ideal candidate will have 5 years relevant supervisory experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What youll do:

• Audits product and processes to ensure conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
• Assures compliance of company policies and safety regulations with employees.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures or schedules to meet customers requirements.
• Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies of shop department and work crew.
• Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents injuries production and personnel issues.
• Maintain consistent and fair labor relations with employees.
• Ensure that the team honors our Atkore core values of Accountability Teamwork Integrity Respect and Excellence in all aspects of their daily work.

What youll bring:

• Bachelors degree in Operations Management or Engineering degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in steel manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Technical background in maintenance industrial or manufacturing engineering required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Lean Management experience a plus.
• AS400 and/or JDE experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills to include understanding of Microsoft Office.

Within 3 months youll:

• Complete your Atkore immersion program.
• Understand how your job will help deliver Atkores strategy.
• Gain an understanding of your team.

Within 6 months youll:

• Gain an understanding of the current training materials and procedures your team owns.
• Partner with the Value Stream Manager and Engineering to start identifying short- and long-term process improvement ideas.
• Identify ways to strengthen the teams commitment to Atkores core values of Accountability Teamwork Integrity Respect and Excellence.

Within 12 months youll:

• Create update and share training materials and documentation.
• Have meaningful performance conversations with team and operators in areas supported.
• Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.

As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $71120 - $97790. Placement in the range depends on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications relevant experience skills seniority performance shift travel requirements and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include but not limited to overtime shift differentials bonuses commissions stock and other incentives.
