Job Summary
Drive quality and engineering readiness for new products modules and components including critical modules such as Battery (Li-ion and other chemistries) Camera Thermal and other subsystems - for iPhones u0026 other Apple products from early design through mass production. Partner with design supply chain and OEM/supplier teams to ensure new products meet specification reliability and scalability targets.
Review new product designs and specifications providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback; conduct tolerance analysis FEA and FMEA to identify design risks and recommend corrective changesnAssess fabrication and assembly strategies for new material or component designs; create risk assessments and mitigation plans identifying execution challenges and recommending solutionsnPlan and lead Design of Experiments (DoEs) to inform design and supply chain decisionsnCollaborate with suppliers to develop flow mapping FMEA equipment/metrology plans and implementation schedules prior to engineering buildsnWork with design engineering and safety teams to establish quality control inspection and metrology stations on production linesnSupport new product development builds driving quality issues to timely closure and presenting RCCA findings to Executive leadership as needednPlan and run validation trials to demonstrate feasibility for high-volume production; assess supplier readiness for build activities and mass productionnDevelop and execute component/module reliability testing plans during NPI and mass productionnDrive quality and readiness at the factory for development builds and mass production; prepare OK-to-Ship documentation for new product launchesnManage IQC IPQC OQC and ORT programs for injection molding stamping and other components; establish quality control plans jointly with vendorsnConduct periodic reviews of field and factory quality data with OEM and supplier partners refining specifications and process capability based on production datanDrive production improvements including robotics and automation to reduce labor costs and maximize quality
7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering or the development of consumer electronicsnExperience in metrology standard manufacturing quality control practices and process/manufacturing engineering fundamentalsnExperience with any of the following: mechanical enclosures castings plastic parts injection molding tooling jigs fixtures or high-volume quality/manufacturing engineering (e.g. Automotive Consumer Electronics Medical Devices etc.)nInternational travel to supplier sites up to 25%.
Creative problem-solving experience and strong English communication skills Experience developing process quality plans leading supplier quality audits and driving corrective actions and failure analysis effortsnProject management experience and a deep understanding of problem-solving and process development tools including Design of Experiments (DoE) root cause analysis FEA FMEA and statistical toolsnExpertise in GRR MSA GDu0026T practices metrology DFMEA and tolerance analysisnKnowledge of reliability methods quality sampling methodologies and process validation for high-volume manufacturingnStrong communication skills and passion to learn and adapt in a dynamic environmentnPrior experience in design/manufacturing of components with tight tolerances is a plus
