Job Summary

Entry-level technician providing mechanical and electrical support for all components systems and subsystems to ensure proper operations within a dairy processing and manufacturing plant. Responsible for repairs replacements and adjustments to installed equipment as well as maintaining structural integrity of the facility. Schedule: 4:00 PM2:00 AM 4/10s Sunday through Wednesday (Thursday Friday Saturday off). Possibility of extension; possibility of conversion to full-time depending on candidate performance.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough walkthroughs and assessments of all equipment (operating and shut down) and ongoing preventive maintenance actions
  • Perform routine mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning and/or out-of-service equipment
  • Provide mechanical assistance to plant Operators in troubleshooting and repair
  • Monitor and maintain plant systems/subsystems to operate equipment
  • Be available to work shifts to fulfill personnel slotting requirements as directed
Experience
  • 3 years in a manufacturing/production environment within a related industry (food manufacturing preferred)
Key Skills
  • Mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of homogenizers blow molds electrical distribution (480V/60Hz/3 phase)
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Reading and understanding technical manuals plant drawings and schematics
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • General knowledge of boiler operations fluid heat exchangers refrigeration/cooling systems fluid mechanics thermodynamics air compressor operations electrical/electronic controls and welding
  • Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Microsoft Outlook proficiency
  • Lean Manufacturing principles experience
Eligibility & Qualifications
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles related to plant operations
  • Ability to use tools and techniques properly with limited supervision
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
