Job Summary
Roles and Responsibilities
o Define and control production process including tooling and equipment; Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product tools or equipment
o Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to support the Safety Quality Delivery and Cost priorities
o Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline; Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
o In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
o In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
o Develop and maintain work instructions implement standard work and support training initiatives within the production line and cell
o Maintain and improve process documentation to ensure consistent and repeatable quality
o Lead high-impact process and quality improvement projects that improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
o Work cross-functionally with design engineering and logistics process owners to validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products tools and equipment
o Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices
o Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes tooling and/or equipment - actively drive positive change to assembly and shipping processes
o Drive improvement by partnering with outside vendors to improve equipment/material cost
o Define cell capital expense (CAPEX) and operational expense (OPEX) needs and manage budget
o Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance; Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks; Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems; May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
o Is an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills; Provides informal guidance to new team members
o Participates regularly in Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean Roadmap
Qualifications/Requirements:
o Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university
o Minimum 1yr of experience in a manufacturing environment
Eligibility Requirements:
o Must pass background and drug screens
Desired Characteristics:
o Experience with automated guided vehicles (AGV)
o Experience implementing AI in quality checks
o Strong oral and written communication skills
o High attention to detail and organization
o Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
o Established project management skills
o Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
o Experience with product family ownership
o Experience with new product introduction and process development
o Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
o Experience reading and interpreting engineering specifications and drawings
o Demonstrated leader and respectful team player
o Hands-on experience with implementing projects and sustaining process improvements
o Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and deliver timely actions
o Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and motivate others
o Willingness and ability to learn from others and listen with intent
