About the Role: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning organizing and managing the Manufacturing Engineering activity for plant operation providing engineering direction and support to plant production and other departments. The Manufacturing Engineer activities major focus is directed to manufacturing systems processes standards tooling and new technology all designed to attain maximum production efficiency at high quality standards in the most cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions
- Identify and implement cost reduction quality safety and ergonomic improvement ideas.
- Implement new manufacturing processes and technology through lean and QRM strategies.
- Create and maintain Job routers to ensure optimum production efficiencies.
- Perform time studies to validate job performance. Adjust job routers as determined.
- Recommend and Design production fixtures and tooling.
- Analyze make/buy decisions utilizing data process flow and safety of handling products.
- Develop design and publish procedural standards operation/work instructions and manuals.
- Develop equipment capital justifications to support existing and new processes.
- Collaborate with the Current Product Engineering team with current product modifications and tooling.
- Carry out responsibilities by inspecting work and assisting with addressing complaints and/or resolving issues related to Production parts.
- Create and evaluate prints and drawings to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Establish welding and wiring standards.
- Maintain proper documentation including BOM optimized for production.
- Contribute to team effort by actively participating in team meetings.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Manage machine programming for CNC equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Current Product Engineering team to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
- Special projects or delegated tasks from the Production Manager if applicable.

- A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required.
- A minimum ofthree to five years of Manufacturing Engineering orotherrelated experience generally required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co-workers management vendors suppliers and customers.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers management vendors suppliers and customers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as job orders procedure manuals and schematics (blueprints).
- Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Ability to be visionary and see the entire process.
- Ability to operate computers and computer software including Microsoft Office products SolidWorks CAD and MRP (Infor CSI).
- Ability to use department equipment such as a forklift hand tools power tools ladder/scaffold overhead crane telephone computer fax machine and copy machine.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand bend kneel climb stairs and walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. If lifting over 50 pounds employees should utilize a jib overhead crane or ask for assistance from other team members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment is usually an indoor setting with frequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently addition other elements that an employee could be exposed to occasionally in this work environment are but not limited to dust dirt fumes and odors mechanical and electrical hazards fire hazards and an elevated workplace. This position requires infrequent travel which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.
