Position Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support the development and standardization of manufacturing and assembly processes. This role works directly on the production floor with skilled assemblers to observe understand and document step-by-step assembly processes into clear effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

This is a hands-on opportunity to apply engineering fundamentals in a real-world high-volume manufacturing environmentwhere your work will directly impact training safety and operational performance.

What You will Do

  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Collaborating directly with assemblers and production leads to learning and documenting real-time assembly processes.
  • Translate hands-on work into clear structured instructions for training and daily operations.
  • Document tools materials process steps and quality checkpoints.
  • Capture photos and visual aids to enhance clarity and usability.
  • Validate procedures with production teams to ensure accuracy and practicality.
  • Incorporate safety requirements and PPE standards into all documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization.

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Industrial Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in manufacturing production systems and hands-on engineering work
  • Comfortable working in a production environment alongside hourly employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor work
  • Frequent interaction with production employees and equipment
  • Must follow all safety requirements including PPE (safety glasses steel-toed shoes etc.)
