Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer with die casting experience to support and improve manufacturing operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production processes improving product quality reducing costs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume die casting environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in die casting processes tooling automation process development and problem-solving methodologies.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop implement and optimize die casting manufacturing processes to achieve safety quality delivery and cost objectives.
Support launch activities for new products including process development equipment selection tooling validation and production readiness.
Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency productivity cycle times scrap rates and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions utilizing structured problem-solving tools such as 8D 5 Why Fishbone and PFMEA.
Collaborate with Quality Production Maintenance Tooling and Supply Chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions process flow diagrams control plans and standard operating procedures.
Support die casting tooling design reviews modifications and preventative maintenance initiatives.
Evaluate and implement automation error-proofing (poka-yoke) and continuous improvement projects.
Participate in capital equipment projects including specification development installation validation and startup support.
Ensure compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.
Provide technical support and training to production personnel as needed.
Support customer requirements and participate in audits when required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a die casting environment.
Strong understanding of aluminum zinc or magnesium die casting processes.
Experience with process optimization tooling and manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and engineering documentation systems.
Strong communication organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
Experience with APQP PPAP PFMEA Control Plans and SPC.
Familiarity with robotics automation systems and vision inspection systems.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or Creo.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat noise and industrial equipment.
Ability to stand walk bend and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Ability to travel occasionally as required.
