Manufacturing Engineer 1st shift

This Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for new and repair steam turbine rotor this role the manufacturing engineer would establish internal processes that safely ensures the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements for Steam Turbine Repairs & Upgrades operations. Drive continuous improvement across the product lines by owning project timelines improving cycle & cost and resolving technical/process issues. Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS production quality and cost savings goals within schedule and budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Define / Develop standard plans for Steam Rotor repairs.
• Provide technical leadership and problem solving to the shop floor during rotor repairs and new builds
• Provide leadership and project management to rotor welding upgrades
• Provide strong communication to define and tie machining cell into the repair on a timely basis
• Cross Functional Interface with Engineering Project Management Quality and other manufacturing cells including but not limited to Machining and the Balance cell.
• Develop build books project folder creation and maintenance for life of project.
• Develop Maintain and continually improve the training programs for operators.
• Team with the QPE to sign off newly trained operators
• Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product tools or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
• Lead improvement efforts for equipment reliability tooling process controls and safety/ergonomic solutions
• Develop work instructions & procedures to support operator training and process control
• Support product qualifications as needed
• Work as an operations leader

Required Qualifications

• For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Manufacturing Engineering Specialist. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
• For roles in USA - Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Desired Characteristics

• Experience with customer owned products that require repair

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $91700.00 and $152700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
