Manufacturing Cost Accountant

KC Elite Staffing is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Cost Accountant on behalf of our client. This position is responsible for managing manufacturing costs inventory accounting financial reporting and cost analysis to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented analytical and comfortable working closely with manufacturing and operations teams.

• Maintain and analyze standard costs job costs bills of materials (BOMs) labor rates and manufacturing overhead.
• Investigate material labor freight and overhead cost variances and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Reconcile inventory work-in-process (WIP) and manufacturing-related general ledger accounts.
• Monitor inventory valuation scrap obsolete inventory and cycle-count adjustments.
• Support month-end closing activities including journal entries reconciliations accruals and financial reporting.
• Analyze gross margins job profitability purchase price variances and manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve costing accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with budgeting forecasting product costing and pricing decisions.
• Develop financial reports and dashboards to monitor costs margins and key performance indicators.
• Support inventory audits internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting practices.
• Familiarity with standard costing cost variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Understanding of inventory reconciliation WIP and general ledger accounting.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with accounting operations and engineering teams.
