7:00am3:30pm MondayFriday with oncall support as needed.
Be the plants controls and automation expert functioning as an extension of management. Exercise independent judgment on operational and personnel matters while safeguarding uptime optimizing performance and elevating accountability.
- Own PLCs VFDs HMIs and industrial communications (e.g. Ethernet/IP) as the site SME.
- Troubleshoot advanced automation/electrical issues; read interpret and modify PLC code to stabilize and improve performance.
- Lead RCAs for complex/recurring failures and install durable corrective actions.
- Direct and mentor maintenance teams on shift and project work; guide electromechanics and production personnel.
- Participate in interviewing and selection; your recommendations influence hiring decisions.
- Execute controls integration for capital projects including commissioning and startup validation.
- Maintain electrical schematics control documentation backups and version control.
- Pursue continuous improvement across automation efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and rigorous LOTO procedures.
- Partner with Engineering CI and Operations to align automation with plant goals.
- Train coach and build the teams electrical/controls capabilities; drive a culture of ownership.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate or bachelors in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Industrial Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 35 years of industrial maintenance with heavy controls/automation involvement.
- PLC troubleshooting/programming expertise; 480V systems VFDs and motor controls proficiency.
- Ability to interpret schematics and conduct system-level diagnostics; self-directed.
- PLC certification (AllenBradley Siemens or equivalent).
- Technical degree in Electrical Mechatronics or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Ethernet/IP DeviceNet HMI configuration and CMMS (e.g. SAP).
- Exceptional analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Strong command of industrial automation systems.
- Comfort managing competing priorities at speed.
- Clear collaborative communicator.
- High-level technical judgment; confident decision-maker.
- Stand walk bend and climb for long periods.
- Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Operate safely in a manufacturing environment with noise heat and moving equipment.
This specialized role configures optimizes and ensures the reliability of plant automation systems. You function as a technical authority and escalation point modifying system behavior and directly influencing production safety systems and efficiency as an extension of management.
