Description

OVERVIEW:

  • In conjunction with hospital administration the manager is responsible and accountable for assuring 24 hour efficient management of the respiratory care unit including managing the daily operations and assuring appropriate staffing levels.
  • The manager is responsible to assure the delivery of quality health care services.
  • A priority of this position is to focus on staff development staff satisfaction and staff retention.
  • The manager participates in the establishment and implementation of policies develops departmental goals and ensures efficient operations of the Department.
  • Complies with all hospital policies and procedures and actively supports Emory Healthcare.
  • The manager along with the director ensures all OSHA and JCAHO standards are maintained.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelors degree in respiratory therapy is required.
  • A Masters degree preferred.
  • Current licensure by the State of Georgia.
  • Current Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Membership and participation in a professional organization preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive management experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience working closely with physicians families and peers and the ability to gain trust and credibility.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member while assuming a leadership role within the organization.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
