Manager, Payload and Terminals Lab, Leo Antennas and CT

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.


Key job responsibilities
As Manager of the Payload and Terminals Lab team you will build and lead a team of hardware and test experts who prototype and validate spaceborne antennas and customer terminals across Research and Development (R&D) and production phases.

You will direct the following capabilities:

- Over-the-air (OTA) test infrastructure Design and build anechoic chambers and near-field scanners to support antenna characterization and validation.
- Hardware (HW) prototyping capability Stand up and maintain prototyping equipment software (SW) tools rework stations and inspection cameras to enable rapid design iteration.
- HW test benches Configure and operate Network Analyzers Signal Generators and Signal Analyzers for RF performance testing.
- R&D prototype build and test Build functional prototypes and execute test campaigns that directly support R&D development efforts.

- Spaceborne payload and customer terminal verification Lead test and verification activities at each stage of the product lifecycle; generate test reports and deliver analysis that informs development and production decisions.

- Antenna test and calibration hardware Design and develop custom hardware solutions that enable antenna test and calibration at scale.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.



- Bachelors degree or above in computer science electrical engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in a combination of people and technical leadership
- 1 year of experience building and operating technical labs in R&D environment
- 10 years of experience in product development SW and HW

- Graduate degree in relevant field
- Experience in ground up development of test solutions
- Development experience in Satcom industry

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
