Job Summary

Description

Proactively promotes a safe work environment. Maintains a high level of awareness to quality as it applies to process and product. Participates in root cause analysis to develop methods to examine and reduce defects. Actively encourages and fosters continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies. From both a strategic and tactical perspective plans organizes directs and sustains all assigned manufacturing processes and procedures in a vertically integrated high-mix high-volume manufacturing environment. Collaborates cross functionally and interdepartmentally to meet and/or exceed company goals and objectives. Develops implements and sustains company and departmental measures and metrics to meet and/or exceed customer requirements. Optimizes current manufacturing processes and develops pathways for more efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations. Proficient in all facets of manufacturing including machining special processing assembly packaging and shipping. Knowledge of demand planning supply and production scheduling. Possesses the ability to analyze supply and demand production capacity yield and rate to maintain on-time delivery. Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the right to operate as it applies to safety environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes executes and sustains robust manufacturing processes to consistently meet quality and on-time delivery requirements.
  • Exhibits a commitment to the inspiration development and mentorship of employees and peers in support of company culture 6S Visual Management Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma philosophies and methodologies.
  • Develops implements and sustains standardized manufacturing measures and metrics to maintain favorable operational targets as applied to cost labor and equipment utilization on-time delivery productivity rate and yield.
  • Consistently reviews manufacturing and operational data to identify and resolve equipment process and quality opportunities to optimize production increase delivery performance and reduce operational delays.
  • Develops and/or revises standardized operational work practices to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards quality requirements and production efficiency.
  • Possesses a keen understanding of customer and industry requirements as it applies to quality lot control and materials/inventory management.
  • Collaborates and engages Sales/Marketing Supply Chain Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Quality and Maintenance in the development/improvement of new/existing equipment product and/or process.
  • Demonstrates a high level of communication and transparency at all levels of the organization and reports data and information on a regular and timely basis.
  • Assures policies procedures and other documentation are followed.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardousconditions.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as requested directed or assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Ability to manage lead and coordinate a team of employees with rapidly changing priorities.
  • High level of proficiency and understanding of various manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Develops solutions and alternatives to problems.
  • Responsible for safety and welfare of employees within the department.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most any problems dealing with processes or production.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and quality.
  • Use and be familiar with measuring tools interpret visual aids and blueprints and must be able to perform shop math.
  • Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office to include Excel Word Outlook and the ability to write routine reports and send correspondence.
  • Ability to write and read English.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management employee groups and others.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Operations Management or related technical field; equivalent experience will be also considered; Masters degree in science business or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience; three (3) years manufacturing supervision or management experience.
  • Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma experience. LSS Certification preferred.
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

  • Effectively exercise supervisory and administrative responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Moderate to frequent lifting or moving of medium weight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers regularly through shift to manipulate components tools etc.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift bend and reach.
