Responsibilities
The Manager of Infection Prevention leads a proactive data-driven program that safeguards patients staff and visitors from healthcare-associated infections. This role blends clinical expertise with operational leadership to drive infection prevention initiatives ensure compliance with regulatory standards and strengthen frontline practices through education consultation and performance improvement. Key responsibilities include surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections investigation of infection clusters and microbiological monitoring and remediation of the healthcare environment.
With a deep understanding of nursing and patient care environments the manager guides infection prevention specialists in identifying trends mitigating risks and shaping strategies that advance safety quality and 5 STAR performance across the organization.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field required
Experience
4 years of previous experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required
Previous leadership experience in Public Health healthcare industry or healthcare setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
CBIC-CIC - Certified Infection Control required
