JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management of the facilities department. Work with Facilities staff by providing technical leadership for the physical plant including maintenance and construction facilitites management security and access systems janitorial services and grounds/landscaping. Manage all activities involved in preventitive scheduled and emergency maintenance cleaning repair and renovation of buildings mechanical systems physical plant and grounds. Manage all bio-medical activities involved in preventitive scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair of laboratory instruments or equipment that includes calibration of centrifuges maintaining refridgerators and freezers and electrical safety checks. Responsible for supporting all TriCore facilities including regional hospitals patient care centers and branch labs. Coordinates with the site manager on the design and construction of new projects and remodel projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage activities involved in preventive scheduled and emergency maintenance cleaning repair and renovation of buildings mechanical systems physical plant and grounds.
- Manage bio-medical activities involved in preventive scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair of laboratory instruments or equipment that includes calibration of centrifuges and electrical safety checks.
- Ensure that housekeeping systems are in place to support a clean professional and safe environment.
- Periodically inspect all facilities to evaluate the need for repairs maintenance or painting. Ensure all facilities appearance meet TriCores brand.
- Inspect buildings and office areas to evaluate suitability for occupancy considering such factors as air circulation lighting location and size.
- Supervise personnel within the department:
- Responsible for the selection development mentoring performance coaching and evaluation of assigned staff and provides leadership support and resources necessary to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Establish high employee engagement through servant leadership and by fostering a culture of respect inclusion accountability and continuous improvement; recognizing and celebrating employee achievements and contributions in a timely and meaningful manner; and addressing employee concerns proactively.
- Train new and existing staff in all areas of facility management to ensure cross-coverage and employee growth and development.
- Set daily/weekly and monthly tasks/goals for the team linking the work to TriCores overall values and vision. Ensure the facility team understands the importance of its work to patient care and supporting the NM community.
- Lead by example demonstrating behaviors that align with the iCare values.
- Oversee activities of contractors vendor personnel and suppliers; monitor contracts for compliance and controls costs; monitor general expenditures; monitor and inspect work to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
- Develop and maintain a three-year capital plan to support long-term facility needs such as HVAC plumbing electrical etc.
- Prepare the department budget for capital equipment supplies and personnel. Analyze budget performance and report monthly. Meet or exceed approved budget.
- Coordinate and monitor bio-hazardous waste disposal and insure compliance with state and federal laws regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain facility security and access systems and programs.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure that quality standards are met. Ensure all facility related activities meet accreditation and regulatory standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field of study or
- equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Four (4) years facilities maintenance experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Journeyman Certification
- Experience supporting a multi-location organization bio-medical equipment or related equipment repair experience hazardous waste management experience.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong project management and consensus building skills.
- Knowledge and integrated understanding of the physical plant and facilities operations including plumbing electrical building materials and mechanical systems repair.
- Knowledge of construction and service contract documents and specifications.
- Knowledge of all federal state and local codes and ordinances pertinent to facilities planning design construction and maintenance.
- Knowledge of test equipment used in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Security and Access system software and Facility Management software.
- Effective communication skills at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to coordinate and/supervise facility repair contractors.
- Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Demonstrated vendor negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Specific training requirements are documented in TriCores Waste Management Plan Saf-011.
- Ability to assist in the selection of lab equipment or materials.
- Participate in committee and management meetings.
