As a Manager Engineeringyoull provide overall direction to the engineering function through development of engineering policies and procedures consistent with organizational requirements and corporate standards. The successful incumbent will direct engineering resources on the business unit in order to efficiently improve the processes procedures methods and materials used in the repair and overhaul processes while ensuring product quality is maintained and striving for quality improvements.
What youll do:
- Plans organizes directs and controls the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team.
- Develops and implements policies standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department/project team.
- Consults and negotiates with clients to prepare specifications explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings.
- Assigns coordinates and reviews the technical work of the department or project teams.
- May participate directly in the design development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department/project team.
- Oversees engineering projects to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.
- Monitors the progress of on-going projects makes recommendations for improving the process to meet the needs of the end-users performs job cost reporting budget analysis and reporting of overall project control.
- Determines if assistance is required from outside contractors initiates arrangements provides technical data and assists contractors with related support services.
- Exercises authority in hiring training career development performance appraisal salary adjustments promotion discipline health safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
- Actively participates as a member of the appropriate management team(s) assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans budgets goals and outcomes.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5 or more years of experience in production manufacturing or process engineering roles ideally within jet engine components or related fields.
Previous leadership experience in engineering design manufacturing or production environment.
Desired Skills
MRO experience preferably jet engine maintenance.
Strong understanding of gas turbine engine theory performance repair development and overhaul processes
Thorough knowledge of airworthiness certification requirements and regulatory bodies (TC CAAC FAA etc.)
Strong planning organizational analytical leadership interpersonal decision making oral and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills.
Fully conversant with testing methods and experiment design to meet airworthiness compliance program requirements.
