Job Description
The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the organizations AP function ensuring accurate timely and compliant processing of vendor invoices payments and expense reimbursements. This role manages a team of AP specialists maintains internal controls and partners with Finance Procurement and other departments to support smooth cash flow operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as an Accounts Payable Manager you will be responsible for:
Team Management
Supervise train and develop AP staff (invoice processors payment specialists)
Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews
Allocate workload and ensure adequate coverage to meet business needs
Foster a culture of accountability customer service and continuous improvement
Accounts Payable Operations
Oversee end-to-end AP cycle: invoice receipt coding approval routing and payment processing
Manage payment runs (checks ACH wire transfers) and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
Review and approve invoices above delegated authority thresholds
Oversee employee expense reimbursement processing
Manage vendor master data and resolve escalated vendor disputes
Vendor Management
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Resolve invoice discrepancies payment issues and vendor inquiries.
Monitor vendor master data controls and ensure accurate supplier records.
Support vendor onboarding and compliance requirements
Controls & Compliance
Design and enforce internal controls to prevent duplicate payments fraud and errors
Ensure compliance with company policy tax regulations (e.g. 1099 reporting) and audit requirements
Maintain segregation of duties across the AP workflow
Support internal and external audits with documentation and process walkthroughs
Ensure proper recording of liabilities and accruals in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare AP aging reports accrual schedules and cash flow forecasts related to payables
Resolve outstanding liabilities
Monitor KPIs (invoice processing time days payable outstanding exception rates)
Analyze trends and recommend process improvements
Systems & Process Improvement
Manage AP software/ERP systems (e.g. SAP/Ariba etc.)
Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and improve efficiency.
Lead automation and efficiency initiatives (OCR invoice capture workflow automation)
Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with IT/Finance on system upgrades or integrations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Procurement on the policies.
Work with General Ledger/Controller team on month-end close accruals and reconciliations
Serve as point of escalation for vendor and internal stakeholder issues
Work with Internal tax team(s)
Required Qualifications
Youre a fit for the role of an Accounts Payable Manager if you have the following required qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
5 years of accounts payable experience including 2 years in a supervisory/management role
Strong knowledge of IFRS AP best practices and internal controls
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
CPA CMA or Masters Degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Experience with AP automation tools; usage of AI/tools is preferred
Experience in a multi-entity or shared services environment

The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations unless otherwise noted the base compensation range for this role is $100100 USD - $185900 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
