Manager, Accounting
Job Summary
The Manager Accounting is a skilled professional responsible for complex Accounting functions for the rapidly growing national enterprise. Beyond management of the Accounting team the Manager Accounting participates in the development and maintenance of a system of internal controls and accounting systems to help the organization mitigate risk safeguard assets enhance accuracy of company reported financial results and comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role.
Manages and oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Department including:
- Month and year-end processing
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Reviews journal entries analysis and reconciliations prepared by Accountants
- Develops and trains the Accountants and Corporate Shared Services
- Performs monthly Revenue review and accrual analysis
- Assists in the coordination of the companys Annual Audit of financials
- Assists and review teams explanations of expenditure variance analysis
- Formally documents processes and procedures to strengthen and maintain internal controls
- Takes initiative to implement improvements and efficiencies on a continuous basis
- Assigns projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Monitors and analyzes financial accounting data and create ADHOC reports
- Bachelors degree in accounting business finance or related field
- 7-10 years of Accounting experience
- 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a complex accounting unit
- In-depth understanding of GAAP principles and standards
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office (including excel) accounting software and databases
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proficiency in best practices related to corporate accounting and possesses a quantifiable track record of success in high-accountability fast-paced organizations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Possesses the knowledge skills and ability to manage a complex department within the boundaries of the companys mission vision and core values
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively coach develop and manage a successful team
- Hands-on leadership style and ability to work collaboratively with the team to achieve well-respected standards and goals
- Private Equity Experience a plus
