Job Summary
The incumbent will perform a combination of routine multiple andvarying assignments under the limited direction of the Field Office and Frontline Management Team.
Assists Office Manager and Frontline Management Team as well as the Administrative Officer. inday-to-day operations and may act as a lead for other support staff to coordinate multipleassignments for the Field Office. Performs back-up duties in the absence of the AdministrativeOfficer. Work activities typically support multiple projects/programs and contribute to theobjectives of the organizational unit.
Applies experience and advanced knowledge to plan and perform administrative assignments forprojects/programs. Has a broad understanding of how administrative assignments contribute toorganizational activities. Responsible for compiling tracking and analyzing data; providingadvanced computer assistance; scheduling meetings; preparing correspondence; providing written ororal explanation of organization policies; and coordinating the implementation of new officepolicies and systems.
Utilizes a variety of software programs to accomplish assignments. Demonstrates considerableindependence in planning time and coordinates only as needed with the Office Manager FrontlineManagement Team and Administrative Officer to prioritize assignments and use assigned helps others plan and identify resources to accomplish projects/programs/tasks.
Contacts are typically internal and external. Internal contacts frequently involve the OfficeManager Management Team and Administrative Officer as well as internal Aviation SafetyInspectors and administrative personnel. Other contacts may frequently include Division Managementand Functional Area Office personnel Flight Standards Field Office Managers and employees frommore than one organizational unit and/or Line-of-Business to share information coordinate effortsand discuss assignments. External contacts are typically with customers and other parties on routinematters that relate to the project/program that is being policies and procedures provide guidance for most assignments but allow somediscretion for the incumbent to select the most appropriate approach or to recommend newapproaches.
May provide recommendations to improve work processes. Resolves most problems and work issueswithout the assistance of the Office Manager Frontline Management Team or Administrative and informs Office Manager Frontline Management Team. Administrative Officer and/or other employees of problems/issues that require their attention andhelp them develop and recommend solutions. Provides guidance to lower-level administrative supportstaff for handling routine problems and issues. Utilizes the government travel system as necessary andassures compliance with established procedures and cost accounting data.
Work is reviewed periodically typically through status reports and at completion to ensure policycompliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or work activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- This is not a remotely sited position.
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E FG/GS-7-8. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must demonstrate: Experience providing support and advice for administrative solutions which may include using appropriate safeguards and procedures for handling sensitive information. Experience using an array of specialized software applications to execute project tasks and achieve objectives. Experiencing managing comprehensive data compilation and tracking processes orchestrate interview coordination schedule meetings and draft correspondence with precision and efficiency. Experience with Window Operating Systems or similar system; and the Microsoft Office Professional Suite including the latest versionsof Word Access Excel PowerPoint and Outlook or similar systems.

Temporary Positions: This is a temporary position not-to-exceed two years; it may be extended terminated or may become permanent without further competition.
Upon completion of this assignment the selected employee shall return to his/her original permanent position or an equivalent position in the same commuting area.
Selectee will be required to report to an FAA Flight Standards Duty Location which may be discussed at selection.
