This position starts at a salary of $102415.00 (GS-12 Step 1) to $158322.00 (GS-13 Step 10) with promotion potential to $158322 (GS-13 Step 10).

Major Duties:

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level performing duties such as:
- Reviewing and analyzing acquisition program activities to ensure compliance with established federal policies procedures and applicable regulations utilizing standard data collection and reporting techniques.
- Compiling and updating requirements for acquisition projects by coordinating with team members and stakeholders and assisting in the preparation of supporting documentation for planning and budgeting purposes.
- Conducting research and assisting with analytical reviews of acquisition program documentation to identify trends support process improvements and contribute to the preparation of status reports.
- Applying wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess management and program data to support the acquisition staff.
- Monitoring management information systems and acquisition program data to track plans priorities milestones and program status for management decision-making.
- Analyzing complex acquisition program data using qualitative and quantitative methods to assess program effectiveness identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Developing business planning cost estimating budget planning and execution analyses for proposed and approved acquisition initiatives.
- Applying federal acquisition policies procedures directives and best practices to support acquisition planning execution oversight and compliance.
- Preparing acquisition strategies procurement requirements briefings presentations white papers and program documentation for Program Managers or acquisition staff use.
- Conducting complex research and assisting with analytical reviews of acquisition program documentation to identify trends support process improvements and contribute to the preparation of status reports.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
You must:
- Meet all qualification requirements including education if applicable to this position subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
- Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/31/2026.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. Certifications:
- Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) or the ability to obtain this certification within 18 months of placement is desired.
- This position requires FAI Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II or Level III depending on the contracts assigned to within 12 months of placement.
