Job Summary
These positions are with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Chicago Region. They are in the Naperville Area Office and the Cleveland Area Office.
- The selectee will be expected to report to the office; this is not a virtual position.
- This position is outside the bargaining unit.
- A writing sample may be required at the time of interview.
Major Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Researches and recommends workable solutions and management actions that are based on sound management principles and are achievable in relation to agency policy and regulations.
- Prepares directives memoranda policy statements and other written guidelines and recommendations for review by management.
- Provides administrative support to the Area Office in the absence of administrative support and/or clerical staff as needed.
- Analyzes management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications data gathering and analytical techniques and systems evaluation methodology as needed.
- Identifies and reviews data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
- Incumbent may assist with planning coordinating and developing budget proposals for the agency.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Management Analyst as described below.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform the duties of the position successfully and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
To qualify for the GS-09: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-07. Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-09 includes: Maintaining and tracking office budget performing research gathering data preparing reports presenting briefings or analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations.

Education: To qualify based on education applicants must have a masters or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D. if related.

A qualifying combination of education and competencies as described above.
