Major Correctives Technical Specialist WIND

Job Summary
This role serves as a key technical resource supporting workforce capability across Major Correctives operations. The specialist will partner closely with operations leaders field leaders technical experts EHS and training stakeholders to identify skill gaps build structured learning plans improve technical consistency and strengthen field execution readiness. The role requires strong technical credibility instructional capability and the ability to translate field requirements into practical training and evaluation methods.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on wind field experience in major component exchange component upgrades blade repair or related corrective services work along with demonstrated capability in technical instruction training development and workforce assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Training Development
- Aide in the development technical training content qualification materials and capability-building programs for field teams performingmajor component upgradesandblade repair
- Support structured learning paths that support both foundational and advanced skill development across Major Correctives work scopes
- Translate technical procedures field lessons learned and execution requirements into clear and practical training materials
- Partner with subject matter experts operations leaders and technical teams to ensure training content reflects current methods standards risks and business needs
- Support creation and maintenance of standardized training modules field guides practical exercises and evaluation tools
- Ensure technical training content aligns with approved procedures quality expectations safety requirements and operational standards
Training Implementation
- Deliver technical training through classroom instruction field-based coaching practical demonstrations simulations and on-the-job support
- Support onboarding and upskilling of field personnel assigned to major component upgrade and blade repair work
- Coordinate training rollouts for new processes tools repair methods retrofit scopes and quality requirements
- Work with field leaders to align training delivery with campaign schedules workforce readiness needs and execution priorities
- Provide direct field support during implementation of new training programs or capability-building initiatives
- Reinforce standard work and procedural adherence through field engagement and coaching
Evaluation and Qualification
- Lead evaluations of technical capability for field employees through hands-on assessments observations qualification reviews and performance validation
- Develop and maintain consistent evaluation criteria for major component and blade repair skill sets
- Assess readiness of technicians and crews for specific work scopes campaigns or advanced responsibilities
- Identify technical skill gaps training deficiencies and qualification risks that could impact safety quality or execution performance
- Provide feedback to field leaders and operations leadership regarding workforce capability readiness and development priorities
- Support qualification tracking and documentation in alignment with business requirements
Field Capability and Continuous Improvement
- Partner with operations leaders to improve workforce capability technical consistency and execution discipline across Major Correctives teams
- Use field observations safety initiatives quality findings rework trends and execution challenges to refine training content and development priorities
- Capture and integrate lessons learned from major component and blade repair campaigns into future training materials
- Support standardization of technical practices and field execution methods across sites and teams
- Recommend improvements to training approaches qualification processes and capability-building strategies based on field feedback and operational performance
- Help build a sustainable technical capability model that supports scale quality and readiness across the region
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with:

- Align training priorities with operational demand technical risk areas and customer delivery requirements
- Serve as a technical training resource for questions related to methods readiness and skill expectations
- Support readiness reviews workforce planning discussions and execution improvement initiatives with technical capability insight
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 7 years in wind services technical field operations turbine maintenance major component work blade repair or related industrial service activities
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% to field sites across North America
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or bachelors degree in a technical engineering industrial or education-related field
- Demonstrated hands-on technical experience in major component exchange major component upgrades blade repair or other complex field corrective work
- Experience developing delivering or supporting technical training workforce development or field instruction
- Strong understanding of field procedures technical standards safe work practices and quality expectations in a wind or industrial field environment
- Ability to evaluate technical skills and provide practical coaching and feedback
- Experience as a technical instructor field trainer lead technician subject matter expert or field quality / technical support resource
- Deep technical knowledge in one or more of the following: Up-tower corrective repair Blade repair methods Retrofit execution Gearbox / generator / main bearing work OR Major component exchange
- Experience building training materials qualification programs or technical standards
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and field-based instructional methods
- Experience conducting hands-on evaluations qualification signoffs or technical audits
- Ability to work across operations engineering and training functions in a matrixed environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant wind industry rope access blade repair or technical certifications are a plus
