The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems equipment and machinery within a federal government facility. This includes performing routine inspections troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems as well as addressing any facility-related issues that arise in a timely and effective manner. The role requires a combination of technical skills problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail to maintain a safe functional and efficient responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Perform routine and preventive maintenance inspections of building systems equipment and machinery to identify and address potential issues before they result in system failures or disruptions to facility diagnose and repair mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems in accordance with applicable codes maintenance manuals and manufacturer promptly to work orders and service requests for both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to facility maintain and repair HVAC equipment including air handling units chillers boilers cooling towers heat pumps and associated controls and maintenance and repair of plumbing systems including water supply lines wastewater systems fixtures valves pumps and related electrical maintenance tasks including inspecting wiring replacing fixtures troubleshooting circuits and performing minor electrical repairs in accordance with applicable safety and maintain building automation and control systems reporting anomalies and taking corrective action as carpentry painting and general building maintenance tasks as required to maintain the appearance and functionality of the accurate and thorough records of all maintenance and repair activities including work orders inspection reports equipment logs and maintenance and maintain an inventory of parts tools supplies and equipment necessary to support facility maintenance all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with applicable federal state and local codes safety regulations and OSHA with facility management other trades personnel and contractors to schedule and complete maintenance tasks efficiently and to emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner to minimize disruption to facility operations and ensure the safety of building in required training programs continuing education courses and certification renewals to maintain technical proficiency and compliance with applicable regulatory other trades and facility maintenance personnel as directed by supervisory and Experience:Required:High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational or technical training in a building trades mechanical electrical or HVAC-related field is strongly of 3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance facilities management or a related trades experience performing maintenance and repair of mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems in a commercial industrial or government facility EPA Section 608 Technician Certification for handling refrigerants (Universal or applicable type certification required).Must possess valid training certifications in relevant trades fields and demonstrate compliance with annual continuing education Skills and Competencies:Must possess and maintain an active Secret security EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal or applicable type).Valid training certifications in related maintenance fields with demonstrated compliance with annual continuing education of 3 years of demonstrated experience in building or facilities knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems components and repair to troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions in a timely to read and interpret blueprints schematics technical manuals and equipment attention to detail with a commitment to performing work accurately and written and oral communication skills with the ability to document maintenance activities and communicate clearly with supervisors coworkers and facility management to prioritize and manage multiple work orders and maintenance tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional facilities maintenance to maintaining a safe work environment in full compliance with applicable OSHA standards and federal safety state drivers ability to perform the duties of the position including lifting heavy objects climbing ladders working in confined spaces and standing or walking for extended Requirement:Secret Security clearanceDesired Skills and Competencies:Experience working within a federal government facility or military installation 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and maintenance of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management control systems (EMCS).Experience with preventive maintenance program development and or advanced training in electrical systems plumbing or HVAC beyond minimum coordinating with contracting officers facility managers and government representatives in a performance-based contract of energy conservation practices and sustainability initiatives as they relate to building systems and facility Aid and CPR Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
