Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Central Lab Production Manager and general direction of the Maintenance team the Home Office Lab Maintenance Technician will execute proper preventative maintenance and perform needed repairs on all lab equipment preventing and/or minimizing interruptions to lab production.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Central Lab Production Manager and in collaboration with the Equipment team executes equipment maintenance and repair accurately efficiently and on time.

• On duty support for production team equipment operators to clear errors repair machines and support production as needed.

• Verifies shift-level maintenance is regularly performed by the production teams.

• Manages tracks and allocates capital refurbishment components.

• Working with Distribution Center leadership moves new and used lab assets from central storage to field use.

• Maintains stocks of repair parts and assets for anticipated replacements

• Works with equipment vendors from SOM Satis Loh and MEI as onsite technical support as needed

Requirements

• 2 years experience in automated equipment laboratory equipment operation or repair

• Industry knowledge of the following equipment; CCU CCP(s) HSC CCL CT-100 44R MR3 EZfit Swift or comparable automated lab equipment.

• Background in electro-mechanical troubleshooting

• SOM Modulo Experience preferred

• EBC1400 experience preferred

• Background in coating process and technology preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift)

• Ability to occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist

• Ability to lift carry push and/or pull up to approximately 45 lbs on rare occasions aid in moving heavy lab equipment

• Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

• Ability to operate basic office equipment

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

• Ability to multi-task

• Ability to identify and solve problems and facilitate problem solving

• Attention to detail

• Time management skills - ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently when there are multiple tasks to accomplish

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees

For roles that are remote (i.e. Work From Home (WFH)) or hybrid (i.e. partial onsite at a VSP location and WFH) must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment.
