Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner.
• Follow and reinforce established safety protocol including machine lockout tag out.
• Troubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analysis.
• Identify and resolve recurring maintenance issues.
• Solicit feedback from machine operators to assist in the diagnosis of issues.
• Coordinate activities with other maintenance staff members as needed.
• Fabricate fixtures or hardware in support of equipment modifications.
• Install and set up new equipment.
• Assist or direct preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist or direct changeover activities as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Maintains reports and documents of maintenance activities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment preferably in a steel processing environment
• Trained in general safety
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Must have own tools specialty tools will be provided
• Must wear safety equipment personal protective equipment as required in areas to perform specific job duties
• Able to help organize and maintain maintenance areas and parts room

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

• All prescribed trade tools testing safety and lifting equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to stand walk and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
• Bend stoop and reach to access equipment and perform repairs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment is predominantly indoors within a steel production facility which may involve exposure to noise heat dust and various chemicals.
• The position may require working in non-standard shifts including evenings nights weekends and holidays to support maintenance needs and production schedules.

The pay for this position is $29.50-36.06. If you are hired your base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location skills education and/or addition to those factors we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
