Maintenance Technician CNC

Machine Specialties LLC (MSI) is a leading contract machining and metal finishing company that designs and manufactures sophisticated cost-effective solutions to meet our clients most demanding challenges. Our company is located in Whitsett NC about 8 miles outside of Greensboro NC.

We are seeking a CNC Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional with experience troubleshooting repairing and maintaining CNC machinery and industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability minimizing downtime and supporting safe efficient production.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform preventative predictive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and other production equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and control system issues to quickly restore equipment to operational status.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
• Repair or replace defective machine components using appropriate tools equipment and best practices.
• Assist with machine installations equipment upgrades and commissioning of new production equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and extend machine life.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records work orders inspections and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering and outside vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize production downtime.
• Follow all company safety policies including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and maintenance processes.
• Remain flexible to changing production priorities and assist with facility maintenance projects as needed.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment.
• Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machining centers lathes grinders or similar industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of CNC controls PLCs servo motors VFDs and industrial automation is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics blueprints technical manuals and equipment drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools power tools precision measuring instruments and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members supervisors contractors and equipment vendors.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school trade certification or additional mechanical/electrical training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds stand for extended periods and work around industrial machinery.
