Job Summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for operating and maintaining mechanical electrical and building systems and equipment. Must perform individual tasks and assist others in general maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)

  • Plan coordinate and direct maintenance functions on equipment machinery tools and facilities while maintaining a pollution-free and safe environment.
  • Comply with all safety procedures as required by law and ensure departmental conformance to safe working procedures.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of and performs repairs and rebuilds mechanical electrical and production equipment including torque and air tool replacement as well as emergency repairs.
  • Completes assigned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring but not limited to the following skills: Metal fabrication Welding Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Repairs Hydraulic Systems etc.
  • Ability to maintain machinery and equipment (i.e. pneumatic tools conveyor systems motors gearboxes etc.).
  • Proven ability to support personnel in performing production equipment repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to maintain and repair all building and ground systems including HVAC fire alarm security and CCTV Systems.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of proficiency in at least one of the above trades and is generally well versed in a number of trades.
  • Responsibility for input and use of CMMS driven tasks and record keeping.
  • Inspects and adjusts equipment and systems perform specific preventative maintenance service and general maintenance functions.
  • Processes equipment incident reports.
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes reactive and preventive maintenance paperwork.
  • Operates and maintains mechanical and electrical systems and equipment that supply the building with heat power ventilation air conditioning and/or refrigeration and other environmental systems in accordance with diagrams sketches operation manuals and manufacturers specifications.
  • Makes periodic inspection of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems as established by the facility operational procedures.
  • Performs preventative and reductive maintenance on equipment typical to production equipment and assist in developing reviewing and implementing comprehensive preventative maintenance procedures
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Adjusts equipment and systems with a view toward conserving energy.
  • Records and reports all faults deficiencies and other unusual occurrences on standard and approval forms.
  • Responds to emergency situations and performs any and all tasks necessary for the protection of property and occupants to include periodic on-call work.
  • Delegate and supervise maintenance technicians to ensure that work orders and associated duties are completed correctly and timely.
  • Must be dedicated to working in a quality improvement work environment.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Skilled Trades education from a Joint vocational School or Higher
  • Minimum of three to five years skilled maintenance experience required
  • Minimum of three to five years maintenance leadership role.

SKILLS

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to effectively relate with others and cooperate as a team member.
  • Ability to perform essential functions and responsibilities of the job with some supervision.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations within the organization.
  • Ability to rely on judgment for personal safety regarding work.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Sufficient hand eye arm and finger dexterity to perform maintenance on machines when needed.
  • Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking while also performing repetitive tasks.
  • Prolonged periods of bending/twisting throughout a work shift.
