Maintenance Tech I

Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I to join our team at one of our apartment communities in Woodstock IL.

The Maintenance Technician I assists with maintaining a clean safe and well-kept residential property. This position performs basic maintenance unit turns grounds upkeep and responds to resident service requests.

Full-Time: 40 hours per week
Schedule: MondayFriday on-call
Pay Rate: $19.00$21.00 per hour

• Assist with unit turns and prepare vacant apartments for new residents.
• Complete basic plumbing electrical painting drywall carpentry and general maintenance.
• Assist with basic HVAC maintenance and report major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain common areas building exteriors sidewalks parking areas and grounds.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance including evenings weekends and holidays.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Reliable vehicle insurance and good driving record.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
