Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking two experienced Maintenance Mechanics to support operations within a fast-paced distribution center environment. These are immediate temporary opportunities anticipated to last up to 60 days with the potential for conversion to a full-time position based on business needs and performance.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with conveyor systems preventive maintenance general facility maintenance and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. This position is focused on maintaining facility and conveyor equipment and is not a forklift maintenance role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain facility assets and perform preventive maintenance on building and distribution center equipment.
- Inspect maintain troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems.
- Perform routine conveyor inspections to ensure systems are clean operational and functioning safely.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery throughout the facility.
- Assist the operations team with maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify potential equipment failures.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and general building maintenance.
- Install and repair plumbing piping tubing valves filters and associated components.
- Replace bearings in motors and seals on pumps as required.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of heat exchangers hot water systems pumps piping and related controls.
- Respond promptly and effectively to equipment failures and facility emergencies.
- Complete tenant/service requests and other general maintenance assignments.
- Follow established Lockout/Tagout and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain clean organized and safe work areas.
- Identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance with minimal disruption to distribution center operations.
- Maintain tools equipment and maintenance supplies.
- Report equipment issues material shortages and repair needs to management.
- Properly document completed work maintenance activities and materials used.
- Operate and update work orders through a CMMS system.
- Assist and cross-train other maintenance team members as needed.
- Follow all applicable OSHA standards local codes company policies and hazardous-material handling procedures.
- Participate in ongoing technical operational and safety training.
- Perform additional maintenance and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an applicable technical or maintenance training program preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on general building maintenance and repair experience.
- Previous experience maintaining or repairing conveyor systems is required.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable local safety codes.
- Experience operating a CMMS/work order management system.
- Ability to safely operate electric and manual hand tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical and plumbing repairs.
- Ability to work from ladders on rooftops and in confined spaces such as closets crawl spaces attics and equipment areas.
- Ability to lift carry and maneuver tools equipment and materials as required.
- Ability to accurately complete written maintenance documentation.
- Must be comfortable working within an active distribution center environment.
- Ability to work in varying environmental and weather conditions as required.

- Night Shift: SundayThursday 8:00 PM5:00 AM
