Maintenance Mechanic

• Paints interior and exterior surfaces on existing buildings and equipment using standard coating methods such as brushing rolling and spraying. Prepares surfaces for painting by scraping sanding or using wire brushes. Patches and fills plaster and wood surfaces. Mixes and blends paints and other surface coating materials to match or to contrast desired colors. Cuts paper and metal stencils for lettering and other stenciling
• Independently alters and repairs framework interior and exterior trim doors windows and refinished paneling. Operates the snow removal equipment (including the case tractor Bolens Tractor and Case Backhoe).
• Independently installs and modifies existing or new plumbing facilities in IHS housing including: utility supply and disposal systems toilets tubs showers sinks hot water heaters (gas and electric) etc. Adjusts all hardware on quarters doors including door closures weather stripping lock sets astragals.
• Repairs and checks housing furnaces hot water heaters changes filters belts controllers sensors transformers and igniters. Makes minor repairs to electrical systems.

On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
