Raritan Valley Country Club is seeking a dependable detail-oriented Maintenance & Housekeeping Attendant to help keep our Club looking its best. This full-time position combines housekeeping responsibilities with light maintenance and repairs to ensure our facilities remain clean safe and well-maintained for members guests and team members.

Job purpose

Support a clean safe and well-maintained clubhouse environment by performing housekeeping duties assisting with minor repairs and completing small maintenance projects. This role helps ensure the clubs facilities furnishing and equipment are maintained for members guests and team members.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Open the clubhouse and perform routine housekeeping and cleaning throughout the Clubs facilities including common areas offices all restrooms patios the pool deck tennis pavilion squash facility and storage areas.
  • Assist with minor repairs and general upkeep of the building furniture fixtures and equipment.
  • Complete small maintenance projects around the clubhouse as needed including painting touch-ups basic carpentry and light repairs.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies such as toiletries linens and cleaning products.
  • Inspect the clubhouse for maintenance or cleanliness concerns and address them promptly or report larger concerns to management.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist with setting up moving and maintaining furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Help maintain a safe and secure environment by checking locks and ensuring tools equipment and potentially dangerous objects are secured.
  • Properly use store and maintain tools equipment and cleaning supplies.
  • Complete assigned daily weekly and periodic task lists.
  • Protect and care for club property equipment and assets.
  • Respond to maintenance or housekeeping needs as they arise during assigned shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in housekeeping facilities support maintenance or a related role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and minor maintenance or repair tasks.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Reliable self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education that provides the necessary skills and abilities.

Working conditions

Work is primarily indoors and exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement sharp utensils harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements

Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills monitor and develop subordinates visually monitor the operation areas and write and read member communication.

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift to 80 lbs. up to 40 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending kneeling crouching climbing reaching standing pushing lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift carry and load equipment that may weigh 50 or more pounds and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.

Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golfs Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such addition personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.

Use the following safety precautions when using an 8ft. ladder:

  • Correct placement of the ladder. The safest angle for a straight ladder is to ensure it is placed on-fourth the distance from the base to the point of support. A frame ladders naturally comply.
  • Ensure the ladder is placed on a firm level surface and do not place the ladder near a doorway.
  • Ensure there are non-skid shoes on the ladder.
  • If using a medal ladder be sure that it is not near electrical wires.
  • One person on a ladder at one time and ensure another staff member is holding the ladder in position.
  • Never overreach.
