Job Summary:

. The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of the hotels physical structure and systems. This includes performing preventative maintenance responding to maintenance requests and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance & Repairs
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and other building systems.
• Troubleshoot and address issues promptly including guestroom maintenance public areas and back-of-house systems.
• Preventative Maintenance
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the hotels facilities and systems are functioning efficiently.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with local state and federal safety regulations.
• Adhere to hotel policies and Marriott standards for safety and security.
• Respond quickly to emergencies such as leaks power outages or equipment failures to minimize disruption to guests.
• Guest Interaction
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests during maintenance calls.
• Ensure minimal impact on guests during maintenance activities.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of repairs inspections and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Report major repair needs or equipment malfunctions to the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Previous experience in building maintenance engineering or a related field. Hospitality experience is a plus.
• Skills:
• Knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Basic carpentry painting and general repair skills.
• Familiarity with safety codes and regulations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Education/Certification:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications in HVAC electrical or plumbing systems a plus.
• Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as climbing ladders standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces.
