Mainframe Developer Medicaid Systems (COBOL / JCL / IDMS / CA-ADS)

Why This Position is Open

This position is open due to the ongoing workload required to support Medicaid IT Systems particularly claims adjudication and payment processes already in production. Additional resources are also needed to support upcoming projects planned for FY26.

Scope of the Project

The selected candidate will backfill production systems contribute to smaller short-term projects and collaborate with customers development staff operations teams and QA staff. The role is critical to maintaining and enhancing the reliability of Medicaid services.

Daily Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Medicaid Services MMIS and MEDS teams to make coding changes to COBOL and ADS programs using IDMS network or relational databases.

  • Develop and maintain technical and design specifications.

  • Perform debugging unit testing and integration testing of coding changes.

  • Support QA staff during system user acceptance and external testing by addressing defects and implementing required coding changes.

  • Communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Work collaboratively with Clemson staff and other contracted resources.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide production support.

  • 10 years of experience in computer system development and modification

Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumens client allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.***
