2nd Shift South Maintenance Tech Level 1 (PM Tech)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician at Magna Engineered Glass is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting repairing and improving production equipment and automated manufacturing systems to support safe efficient and reliable operations. This role responds to equipment issues performs preventive maintenance supports production changeovers and works collaboratively with Operations Engineering and Quality to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance. As technicians progress through Levels 1 through 4 responsibilities expand from basic troubleshooting and repair activities to advanced automation programming equipment optimization technical leadership mentoring and support of capital improvement projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Level 1 PM Tech
- Performs work center start up and shut down processes.
- Respond quickly to production issues minimize downtime and ensure equipment availability
- Performs basic troubleshooting of soldering equipment robots tip changers mold machines and assembly fixtures.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of pneumatic hydraulic and electrical components.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
- Inspect equipment to identify and prevent potential failures.
- Supports production cell and mold changeovers including equipment preparation component changes and startup verification following established procedures and work instructions.
- Document all repairs and preventative maintenance activities in the CMMS (Fiix).
- Properly understand and follow production metrics and escalation procedures.
- Properly identify different types of adhesives to clearly and effectively troubleshoot dispense systems.
- Updates technical staff through attending crossover meetings and updating equipment logs.
- Comply with all company health safety and environmental policies as well as applicable federal state and local regulations; properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Level 1:
- 1-3 years in mechanical / automation machine repair.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot update and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge including pneumatics and electrical required.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Fiix.
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and energized systems in accordance with company policies.
- Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- English proficiency required with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

- Frequently stand walk bend squat kneel reach and climb throughout the workday.
- Frequently use hands and fingers to handle tools equipment components and controls.
- Ability to work from ladders lifts platforms and elevated work areas.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and around manufacturing equipment.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
- Ability to push pull and maneuver equipment tooling and machine components.
- Ability to visually inspect equipment read gauges schematics computer screens and technical documents.
- Ability to distinguish colors when identifying electrical wiring indicators and components.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses hearing protection gloves steel-toed footwear respirators (when required) and other protective equipment.
- Ability to work around noise vibration heat moving machinery oils lubricants adhesives and other manufacturing-related materials.
- Ability to respond to emergency equipment failures and work overtime weekends or alternative shifts as needed.
