Machine Tool Technician

• Perform maintenance troubleshooting and repair of machine tools including manual lathes surface grinders milling machines CNC equipment and horizontal and vertical machining centers.
• Diagnose mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic issues.
• Perform machine alignments calibrations and precision adjustments.
• Install test and commission new or rebuilt equipment.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for shop equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings blueprints and technical manuals.
• Support production teams to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Observe Company Safety Policy and Procedures; follow and support all STS Safety Policies and ISO Procedures.
• Complete and properly document all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Report any mechanical issues identified during inspections to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Work closely and maintain clear communication with other departments mechanical personnel Leadman and Supervisors.
• Complete all company-required training programs.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in machining industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
• 710 years experience maintaining machine tools or industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machining operations and precision measurement tools.
• Experience with CNC troubleshooting preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Experience in turbomachinery rotating equipment or heavy industrial repair.
• Familiarity with vibration analysis or alignment practices.
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing bending and working in an industrial shop environment.
• Ability to work around rotating machinery and heavy equipment.

• Industrial repair and machine shop setting.
• Exposure to noise moving equipment oils and machining materials.
• PPE required at all times.
