Machine ShopTool Room Supervisor

Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an experienced Machine Shop/Tool Room Supervisor to oversee daily machine shop operations in our AS9100-certified manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for driving safety quality delivery productivity and employee development while ensuring precision machined components consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements. The position supervises CNC and manual machining operations coordinates production activities across multiple departments and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Lead and develop machinists and machining personnel to achieve safety quality delivery and productivity objectives.
• Coordinate production schedules staffing machine utilization and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 customer specifications engineering drawings GD&T and internal quality procedures.
• Monitor departmental KPIs including productivity scrap rework downtime and on-time delivery.
• Partner with Engineering Quality Scheduling Maintenance and Production leadership to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
• Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe organized workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience including CNC machining with previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in an aerospace defense precision manufacturing or AS9100-certified environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes tooling blueprint reading GD&T ERP systems and production planning.
• Proven ability to coach employees solve problems manage priorities and improve operational performance.
