Machine Operator Grids Rover

Job Summary
The Machine Operator Rover supports the hot bend and cold bend gridforming operations within the Grid Area. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production flow ensuring equipment is properly set up and operated and maintaining quality standards throughout the bending process. The Rover serves as a communication and training lead within the area - supporting operators training new hires reinforcing process expectations and ensuring safe consistent and efficient production of grid components.
The Rover must be fully fluent in the grid bending process including setup operation troubleshooting and inspection of hot and cold bending equipment. This position plays a key role in maintaining workflow supporting continuous improvement and ensuring adherence to operational quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor daily operations across hot bend and cold bend machines to ensure safe efficient workflow.
- Perform complete setup changeovers and operation of grid bending equipment according to specifications.
- Train new hires and current employees on grid bending processes equipment operation safety requirements and quality standards.
- Inspect parts during and after bending to confirm dimensional accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings.
- Identify and correct issues related to machine performance material flow or product quality.
- Perform and document required quality checks; ensure raw materials meet specifications.
- Maintain safe working conditions follow all safety protocols and ensure machines are in proper working order.
- Assist operators across the grid area support production goals and communicate issues to leads/supervisors promptly.
- Recommend process improvements support standard work updates and help maintain organized workspaces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines tools and work area.
- Regular and predictable attendance and ability to work effectively under production deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 7 years of machine operation experience preferred
- Prior experience in hot bend or cold bend grid forming strongly preferred
Required Skills & Abilities
- Full working knowledge of hot and cold bending processes equipment and tooling.
- Ability to train employees communicate clearly and reinforce process expectations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings measuring devices (micrometers calipers tape measures) and process documentation.
- Ability to operate computerprogrammable machinery and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate hoists cranes and lift devices safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a constant state of alertness.
- Ability to work cooperatively with leads supervisors and coworkers.
