Machine Learning Algorithm Engineer

Human Interface Devices (HID) is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with experience developing realtime resource constrained models for computer vision applications. Were a mix of signal processing machine learning and interaction algorithm engineers united by a passion for building intuitive user interfaces and intelligence features for the next generation of computing Apples products HID bridges the gap between sensing technologies and user interfaces. The problems you solve will be multidisciplinary and require strong collaboration and communication with partners in sensor modules algorithms data software and design. Youll build features through the entire development cycle from prototyping and feature definition data collection design model development and evaluation and feature convergence.

In this role you will:nn* Prototype and define features end-to-end in collaboration with HW SW and design partnersn* Design data collections and synthetic data generation for model development and evaluationn* Define key performance indicators to evaluate UX impact of model performancen* Develop realtime resource constrained models that power user input and intelligence featuresn* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to root cause issues throughout the feature stackn* Communicate user impacts of technical challenges to cross-functional stakeholders

2 years of experience building ML models including data preparation architecture selection training and evaluation (ex. PyTorch or TensorFlow)nProficiency in Python for data analysis and model developmentnExperience developing realtime resource constrained models using efficient architectures (ex. CNNs) and compression techniques (ex. distillation and quantization)nExperience using genAI tools for SW development (Claude Code Cursor Codex etc.)nAble to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teamsnExcellent problem solving and root cause analysis skillsnBS in Computer Science (CS) Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related field / equivalent experience
