Job Summary
This Machine Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and enhancing machinery using SolidWorks software. This is a direct hire position for a reputable and growing machine builder in the Grand Haven MI area. All levels of experience will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Create design and layout custom automation equipment based on engineering principles and expertise.
- Conceptualize machine designs and select appropriate materials.
- Develop detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks software.
- Size mechanical components such as pumps gears pulleys sheet metal bearings hydraulics pneumatics and piping.
- Provide support for machine assembly and troubleshooting.
Desired Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Previous experience as a Machine Designer ideally in material handling assembly or automation sectors.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with Inventor CREO Pro-E AutoCAD or other 3D design software beneficial.
- Knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics and servos advantageous.
- Strong technical aptitude team-oriented mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
- Project Engineering or structural design experience a plus.
- Must be a US citizen or possess a Green Card.
