General Description:

The Lunch Aide supports the school nutrition program by supervising students during lunch periods assisting with meal distribution and ensuring a safe and clean dining environment. This role involves monitoring student behavior maintaining cleanliness in lunch areas and collaborating with staff to create a positive and organized mealtime experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of lunch periods
2. Assist in the delivery of lunches
3. Assure the safety of students during lunch periods both inside and outside of the school building
4. Assist in the clean up of the lunch areas at the end of lunch periods
5. Ensure the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas during and between lunch periods.
6. To sweep under tables between lunches.
7. To assist students with cleaning up spills on tables and floors.
8. To look for and clean spills around garbage cans and other areas that can create slip hazards.
9. Communicate with custodial staff for larger spills.
10. Replace trash cans or provide additional supplies.
11. Other duties as assigned by the building department

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma
2. Experience working with children is required

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit stand walk talk hear operate a computer hand-held learning devices and other office equipment reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
