Job Summary

Support the full-time staff of the Office of Spiritual Development by completing professional administrative tasks to enhance and fulfill the department outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Professional and friendly attitude to those visiting the LU Send office.

Works effectively as a team member embracing & fostering LUs mission.

Assist in greeting and assisting guests of LU Send.

Ability to answer phone calls and properly direct calls or questions to the appropriate staff member.

Support and assist the LU Send team/supervisor with daily tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • Computer knowledge including MS Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professionalism

  • Works well independently and as a team

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Communication and Comprehension

  • Abilityto effectively communicateboth verbally and in writing to convey clear well-articulated information.

  • Ability to understand speak and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Computer skills especially Microsoft office; ability to learn new skills quickly.

  • Intuitively able to reason analyze information and events and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.

  • Occasional international travel may be required.

  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

  • Occasionally required to stand walk and climb stairs to move about the building.

  • Handle materials reach overhead kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

  • Regularly lift25or fewer pounds.

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. Itis welllightedand the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position the use of ones personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid drivers license an acceptable DMV record LU Driving Approval and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employees position.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities required skills available funding and market conditions.
