Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Indy West Christian School is seeking a mature Christian individual to fill a Long-Term Substitute Teacher position in Kindergarten. The ideal candidate has prior teaching experience a passion for working with young learners the ability to lead and instruct children collaborate with a team and create a positive Christ-centered classroom environment.

• A valid Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit.
• Bachelors degree preferably in Education.
• Previous teaching experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• The ability to lead and instruct students effectively.

• Develop and implement lesson plans consistent with the regular teachers curriculum and classroom objectives.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that fosters academic growth and student engagement.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain school-wide expectations.
• Adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of individual students.
• Communicate regularly with students parents and school administration.
• Maintain accurate grades and attendance records.
• Keep the classroom organized attractive and conducive to learning.
• Supervise students during non-instructional duties such as recess lunch and car line.
• Attend faculty meetings staff development opportunities parent meetings and other required school events.
• Collaborate effectively with administrators faculty and staff.
• Follow the Matthew 18 principle in relationships and conflict resolution.
