Description & Requirements

Broad Institutes Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization supports the institutes scientific programs by ensuring reliable receipt storage and distribution of critical laboratory materials and equipment. The Logistics Assistant II supports both SCM loading dock operations and Supply & Quality Management (SQM) stockroom operations helping manage the movement and tracking of research materials across multiple Broad facilities.


Logistics Assistants receive laboratory consumables scientific instruments and other research materials used across the institute. They record inventory transactions in SAP and support distribution of supplies through stockrooms internal delivery routes and satellite laboratory supply stations (minimarts).


The role requires strong attention to detail and the safe handling of sensitive research materials including hazardous chemicals and temperature-controlled reagents. Logistics Assistants play an important role in ensuring Broad researchers have reliable access to the materials required for their work.


Logistics Assistants may be assigned responsibilities across loading dock operations stockroom inventory management or other logistics functions depending on operational needs.


Responsibilities

  • Receive and process deliveries of laboratory consumables research reagents IT equipment and scientific instruments
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and process goods receipts in SAP
  • Capture serial numbers and apply asset tags for incoming equipment and IT assets
  • Digitally scan and archive packing slips and receiving documentation using OCR tools
  • Maintain organized stockroom inventory and storage locations
  • Restock satellite laboratory supply stations across Broad facilities
  • Fulfill internal material requests through the Webreq requisitioning system
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with reconciliation of physical inventory and SAP records
  • Investigate and resolve routine discrepancies related to deliveries or inventory transactions
  • Coordinate internal movement of materials supplies and equipment between Broad facilities
  • Support intake and delivery of large laboratory equipment and capital assets
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment as required
  • Communicate with delivery drivers and internal teams regarding shipments and logistics activities
  • Handle hazardous chemicals temperature-controlled materials and sensitive research supplies in accordance with institutional safety procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
  • 2 years experience in logistics warehouse operations inventory management or related operational work
  • Experience working with ERP inventory systems such as SAP preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine operational or inventory issues
  • Ability to manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and perform physically intensive tasks
  • Valid drivers license required and ability to operate institute vehicles including box trucks
  • Experience operating pallet jacks or similar warehouse equipment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience education qualifications and other factors permissible by law.
