Local Transit Operator

The Town of Boxborough is seeking a reliable safety-minded and community-oriented individual to serve as a Local Transit Operator. This position provides an important service to residents by helping them access appointments shopping programs and other community destinations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport residents along Boxborough Connects and designated routes
• Support Council on Aging transportation services
• Provide courteous and professional customer service
• Collect fares and maintain required trip and service records
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Report vehicle concerns damage or maintenance needs
• Follow Town and MART safety and operating requirements

The operator will drive a Montachusett Area Regional Transit Authority (MART) passenger vehicle and will receive required and ongoing training.

Qualifications:

• 21 years of age or older per MART policy
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Massachusetts drivers license and clean driving record
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable safety-conscious and comfortable working with the public

Position Details:
Part-time positionwith per diem scheduling. The hiring range is$24.51$25.75/hour. This is a union position.

Successful candidates must complete a background check pre-employment physical and drug screening and are subject to random drug testing. MART training is required.
