Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading and loading live bird cage racks from trucks using lift equipment in a timely manner. The role supports live receiving operations by maintaining a safe clean work environment following humane handling policies for live birds at all times and complying with all applicable Farmer Focus policies.
Key Responsibilities
Efficiently and safely unload cage racks from trucks to the loading dock and load empty racks back onto trucks.
Operate or train to operateforkliftequipment safely in tight congested work areas.
Follow humane handling policies for live birds at all times.
Work in all-weather environments including snow rain ice and sun.
Maintain a clean neat and orderly work area.
Rotate through all live hang rotations as needed.
Occasionally assist with removing truck plastic covers and unstrapping cages.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications
Ability and willingness to be trained to safely operate lift equipment.
Ability to obtainforkliftoperator certification.
Ability to follow humane handling policies safety procedures and all applicable company policies at all times.
Ability to maneuver lift equipment in tight congested work areas.
Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain good attendance.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
New team members must be able to pass a drugandalcoholpost-offerandprior to the start of their employment.Mustbe authorized towork in the United States.The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment Physical Demands and Travel
Work is performed on-site in live receiving and loading areas and may require working in all-weather environments including snow rain ice and sun. The role requires sitting for prolonged periods while operating lift equipment maneuvering in tight and congested areas occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. assisting with removal of truck plastic covers and unstrapping cages and working overtime as needed. Team members must follow safety requirements humane handling policies and all applicable PPE and company policies.
