About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a respected and established litigation practice representing public entities municipalities and corporate clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys taking ownership of complex litigation matters.
Working closely with attorneys and clients you will play a critical role in supporting all phases of litigation from case inception through trial preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional work product with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft correspondence pleadings discovery requests and responses discovery motions proposed orders subpoenas and other litigation-related documents for attorney review.
- Prepare jury instructions and assist with trial preparation and case strategy support.
- Process organize tag index and manage large volumes of discovery materials including documents electronic communications audio recordings and video evidence.
- Summarize depositions and prepare comprehensive deposition indexes and case summaries.
- Conduct legal and factual research utilizing Westlaw LexisNexis and other legal research platforms.
- Manage electronic filings in California state and federal courts and ensure compliance with applicable court procedures and deadlines.
- Coordinate with experts witnesses court personnel and clients regarding litigation matters and trial appearances.
- Conduct client and witness interviews and assist with gathering information critical to case development.
- Monitor litigation calendars case deadlines and procedural requirements across multiple active matters.
- Maintain accurate case files records and litigation databases.
- Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation including discovery motion practice mediation arbitration and trial.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certificate in compliance with California requirements.
- Minimum of five (5) years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures rules and e-filing requirements.
- Experience drafting litigation documents discovery materials subpoenas and trial-related materials.
- Proficiency with Westlaw LexisNexis Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) Adobe Acrobat Pro and case management software.
- Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
